Carrak Consulting joined colleagues and like-minded enthusiasts for a fascinating tour of South Crofty Mine, courtesy of Strongbow Exploration Inc. and the Cornish Institute of Engineers.
The trip was organised by the Cornish Institute of Engineers (CIE) as part of their excellent 2018-19 lecture and fieldwork programme. The underground tour was led by Owen Mihalop (COO) and Keith Russ of Strongbow and provided the opportunity to view recent development work and learn about future dewatering and exploration plans for the mine. It also included a rare chance to see the narrow ancient stopes on North Entral Lode, complete with timberwork, beneath the heart of Pool.
