Carrak Consulting had the pleasure of working closely with the ESG team at Cornish Lithium on their flagship hard rock project for another year.
2023 was a pivotal year for Cornish Lithium, with several rounds of due diligence ahead of landmark funding from the UK Infrastructure Bank and the Energy & Minerals Group. The Trelavour hard rock project has advanced at pace, with development of the demonstration-scale processing plant starting, the appointment of Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) and Feasibility Study Consultants and the growth of Cornish Lithium’s own ESG team.
During 2023 Carrak Consulting was part of the selection process and appointment of the ESIA consultant for the Trelavour project, as well as the design and phasing of ESIA enabling studies. The company also steered the format of the Environmental Design Criteria report and planned Site Options Assessments. These studies will be key to the successful integration of the Feasibility Study and ESIA processes.
Carrak Consulting provided oversight of the strategy for mineral by-product characterisation and presented consenting scenarios to inform project design options and development timelines. The company recommended the terms of reference for a legal risk review and was involved in the funding due diligence process and evolving ESG Action Plan.
Working with the growing ESG team at Cornish Lithium in 2023 has been a dynamic and rewarding experience and Carrak Consulting looks forward to a continued relationship in 2024.
