The South West Mining Subsidence Forum (SWMSF) has a new website hosted by Frederick Sherrell Ltd. The launch of the website coincided with a Geological Society online training session given by Forum member, Simon Ruddlesden (Ruddlesden Geothechnical) on ground engineering risks resulting from former mineral extraction in Cornwall and Devon.
The SWMSF is also pleased to have joined the Cornwall Mining Alliance, a group of over 100 mining and minerals related organisations based in the South West.
The Forum is currently working on producing mining hazard guidance zones to support Cornwall Council planning guidance and to assist developers in the early identification of any potential for mining related ground instability risks.
