Carrak Consulting has carried out an environmental performance review for a cluster of Spanish copper mines. The company reviewed operational practices at the mines against national compliance requirements and industry best practice standards.

Carrak Consulting is pleased to have completed a second phase of environmental due diligence on a group of copper mines located in the Iberian Pyrite Belt on behalf of North Coast Consulting Ltd (NCC). The sites are located in a region where there are widespread acid mine drainage legacy issues and pressure on available water resources.

Carrak Consulting examined operational compliance, as well as environmental monitoring and governance practices. The Company also evaluated corporate resources and procedures, in discussion with the Environmental Manager, to identify any inherent liabilities or potential red flags.

The review was finalised in a workshop with NCC and presented to their end-client as an environmental gap analysis, risk register and action schedule, which formed part of an inter-disciplinary technical report.
